Caledonian Canal

A rusting canal barge rests above the lock in Fort Agustus Scotland.
The artwork started from a photo I took on a bike tour of Scotland in May 2015. I based the artwork on two manipulated photos.
Using digital watercolor painting styles heavily influenced by late 19th century English watercolor paintings. The subtle custom grungy digital overlays and a final canvas underlay added the “aged” look of an old painting found in some country home or tavern.
